The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation was founded at an uncertain time, outside the town center, on Mount Difesa. The small building gradually expanded over the centuries; its modern appearance dates back to eighteenth-century restorations. Numerous spaces, built to accommodate the faithful and their flocks, once stood around the church, but these were gradually eliminated to make way for the square in front. The interior has a single nave, and the high altar houses the nineteenth-century statue of Our Lady of Consolation, carried in procession during the Feast.
